Welcome to the 3rd in the series of orphaned course updates: Mauna Kea GC 2020

Access Software originally developed this course in 1992 for Links/Links386 Pro. At the time, the course
played to 7114 yds from the Black tees (the 4 tees being Black, Blue, Red, and White). This update accomodates
all 5 tees in Links2003 (Black Championship tees at 7369 yds, Blue Middle tees at 6808 yds, White Forward tees at
6388 yds, Yellow Junior tees at 5878 yds, and Red Ladies tees at 5243 yds).
The course was built in 1964 atop a 5000 year old lava flow. It has been described as 'rugged beauty' with both
gently sloping terrain and punctuated by dramatic elevation changes amidst a volcanic desert.

The signature hole of Mauna Kea is of course the par 3 over-the-water shot on hole 3. Those playing the black tees
should be aware that you will be teeing up from the rarely used Championship tee box on hole 3. Hence, you will be
shooting over two lagoons at a max distance of 272yds. Not a problem in calm conditions, however in windy conditions,
I have found that landing on the green is most improbable - chipping and bunker skills here is critical. The prevailing
wind here is from the SW to the NE and I've adjusted the wind factor to be as close to constant as possible - within a
few degrees anyways.

The Course includes custom Flags, Panorama, Hole Previews, Splash Screen, and Logo. Pins have been adjusted using the
PinGrid.tga overlay to mitigate any heavily sloped pin placements.

Please consider leaving feedback on your playing experience on the Links Corner Forum called 'Course Corner' under the
topic called 'Mauna Kea Golf Club 2020 Beta'. Your feedback on this beta version is always useful for updating to a
final version.
